Overview of Daami Youth Development Organization (DYDO)

Website Narrative Version

Daami Youth Development Organization (DYDO) is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth, marginalized groups, and vulnerable communities in Somaliland. The organization was established to address critical social challenges facing young people—including limited economic opportunities, lack of access to skills development, and social exclusion—while promoting community resilience, inclusion, and sustainable development.

DYDO works to create pathways for youth to become active, capable, and responsible contributors to society. Through skills training, civic education, community engagement, and advocacy initiatives, the organization supports young people in building brighter futures for themselves and their communities. DYDO also focuses strongly on minority inclusion, protection, and accountability to affected populations, ensuring that no one is left behind in humanitarian or development processes.

With a commitment to transparency, equity, and community-driven solutions, DYDO partners with local actors, international organizations, and government institutions to implement impactful programs in areas such as youth empowerment, education, community development, human rights, and displacement support. Our work is grounded in the belief that sustainable change begins with informed, empowered, and engaged youth and communities.

DYDO continues to expand its reach and strengthen its programs to promote dignity, opportunity, and social justice for all.
